Today we woke up early again (5:00 am) and left Switzerland. We headed to Austria by way of Germany so we could visit an awesome castle. We left Anton (Bernadette’s father) behind because he had to work. Monica (Bernadette’s mother) had been to the castle as a child, and Bernadette had never been. We got a little lost, temporarily (and just so you know…I wasn’t driving or navigating), so it was a 5 hour trip to the castle. It is the castle that Disney used to create his castle/symbol that you see everywhere. Cool! It rained when we first arrived and we got soaked walking up a very steep climb to see it. It was beautiful up there though. That king really knew how to pick a building site!
After that we drove another 3 hours into Salzburg, Austria to their other home. It is very nice and we have lots of space. Here we got to meet Sebastian, Bernadette’s brother. To end the big day, we took the family out to a restaurant that sits at the top of the mountain nearby. We had our favorite food here so far, but I have no idea what it’s called…so I posted a picture. It was some kind of dough/cheese/bacon/onion deliciousness. We also had crepes and ice cream for dessert. Finally, they drove us to the top of the mountain to check out the nighttime view of the city of Salzburg. Amazing! God continues to bless us on this trip…keep those prayers coming! Love to you all!
Wow! It looks like an amazing trip so far. So excited Carson got to see the giant bridge I can’t wait to hear about it in person. Praying for safety and loads of memories. The Organ Crew.
